Saba Named a Leader in Webconferencing by Independent Research Firm

Saba Meeting Cited for Its Low-Bandwidth Usage and Offering of Student Interaction Controls to Support Instructors in Virtual Classroom Scenarios

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – Sept. 18, 2013 – Saba (OTCPink: SABA), a global leader in next-generation cloud solutions for talent management, announced today that the company has been ranked as a “Leader” in the September 2013 report, “The Forrester Wave™: Webconferencing, Q3 2013,” by Forrester Research, Inc. Saba Cloud’s Webconferencing product was evaluated in a field of 11 industry products, each with at least 70,000 paid users, 2,000 corporate accounts and support for collaborative Web meetings.

Saba’s Webconferencing product offers many self-service controls to support instructors in virtual classroom scenarios. The current offering – evaluated by Forrester on nine groups of criteria (platform support, user experience, scheduled meeting features, ad hoc meeting features, in-meeting features, recording and playback, audioconferencing, video conferencing and management) – received a score of 4.2, the second highest in the category, with scores spanning from 3.05 to 4.28. According to the report, “Many customers choose Saba Meeting for its low bandwidth usage, including its ability to work well on bursty networks like VSATs.”

According to Forrester, “In addition to having products with comprehensive functionality, each of these vendors [Forrester Leaders] has a vision for Webconferencing as part of a broader UC suite, collaboration platform, conferencing product portfolio, or business application offering. …They also have a more robust cloud infrastructure and more deployment model options, including support for different kinds of on-premises deployments.”

“Our webconferencing product aligns with Saba’s overall mission to give users the ability to actively engage and cultivate a customized learning and development experience in the workplace,” said Shawn Farshchi, president and CEO at Saba. “Our focus on innovation and the end user has enabled Saba to develop real-time collaboration into a key capability and differentiator of our next-generation talent management solutions. In addition, the ability to use Saba Meeting over low-bandwidth networks allows our customers to deliver virtual classroom and web conferencing solutions to users around the world, including in developing countries. It’s an honor to be named a leader by Forrester.”
